On October 7-8, 2024, Hungary, in the context of its Council Presidency, hosted a meeting of Chief Medical Officers, Chief Nurses, and Chief Dentists from the EU.
This gathering provided a platform for leading experts from the region (one representative per country) to discuss urgent public health issues. It also offered an opportunity for participating nations to highlight key topics and share their most significant findings with their peers. This year, the discussions focused on major challenges such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR), mpox, infection prevention and control, as well as the health impacts of environmental crises.
In recognition of its contribution to combating AMR in Europe, the EU-JAMRAI 2 consortium was invited to deliver a 30-minute keynote address on AMR in Europe, emphasizing the need for a coordinated One Health response and EU-JAMRAI’s role in the fight against AMR.
