The Netherlands as leader of WP5, which focuses on the implementation of One Health national strategies and National Action Plans for AMR, organized a workshop at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in The Hague on 22sd and 23rd January, 2018. In a previous stage, Member States fulfilled a survey to map the status of their NAPs which results were presented in the meeting. Main goal of the mapping is to provide insight in the status of implementation of the Council conclusions on the next steps under a One Health approach to combat antimicrobial resistance (2016/C 269/05). After the workshop, partners will work on the development of a self-assessment tool that will help to perform country-to-country visits through the 3 years of the project.
Country-to-country peer review/assessment system will be set up, as described in the Council Conclusions and will allow representatives of one or several WP5 participating countries to:
– Evaluate each other’s national action plans and One Health strategies
– Reflect about policy options
– Provide recommendations to support countries on the development and implementation of the NAP and the measures taken.
