On the 18 November ECDC organises a conference where governmental institutions, professional and patient organisations, country representatives and media are invited to discuss the current situation regarding antibiotic resistance and the actions taken to address them by all stakeholders, both at EU/EEA and national levels. On this occasion ECDC will present the report "Survey of healthcare workers’ knowledge and attitudes about antibiotics and antibiotic resistance in EU/EEA,2019".
The event, that will open with a keynote speech by the EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Vytenis Andriukaitis, will include the following panel discussions:
- The European one health action plan against antimicrobial resistance - what does the eu do to address antimicrobial resistance and what is the way forward?
- Survey of healthcare workers’ knowledge and attitudes about antibiotics and antibiotic resistance in EU/EEA,2019
The last intervention will be in charge of Professor Marie-Cécile Ploy, EU-JAMRAI Project Coordinator, who will launch a contest to find a symbol that represents the global threat of antibiotic resistance, the Antibiotic Resistance Symbol Contest.
